2. Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel: This popular historical drama television series is about Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII’s right-hand man, during the period of reformation in England. The concentrated plot of the novel is based upon the questions of power, faith, and individual greed.
3. A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles: This novel is based on Count Alexander Rostov who is a nobleman and is sentenced to house arrest in an opulent hotel in post-revolutionary Russia. Still in prison and yet he makes meaning out of lives of people that he comes across and other experiences in his life.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini: This great story narrates the life of Amir, an Afghan boy, who lives with the guilt of betraying his best friend Hassan during their childhood because of his inability to stand up for him at the time of an atrocious incident. It is also concerning the motifs of friendship, salvation, and the possibility of family relationships’ victory over every obstacle.
5. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah: Based in Alsace in World War II this book focuses on two sisters, Vianne and Isabelle, and their reactions to war. Vianne ends the film in her home town and aids the Resistance whilst Isabelle becomes a member of the French partisans. The major themes in the novel include love, sacrifice and even the spirit of humanity.
